Underfloor Heating Specialists

Heating & Cooling Solutions specialists supplier of warm water underfloor heating systems. We deliver fully designed and installed underfloor systems to domestic houses of all sizes, commercial and industrial projects

As a specialist supplier of warm water underfloor heating systems, Heating and Cooling Solutions are able to deliver fully designed and installed underfloor systems to domestic houses of all sizes, commercial and industrial projects. Underfloor heating is becoming more and more popular as a low-cost, comfortable heating solution, particularly attractive in these days of high energy costs and extra concern about the environmental impact of a heating system.

We provide a wide range of manufactured systems to suit the application and in some cases mixing pipework and manifolds to achieve a more suitable solution. We can help you choose the right underfloor system for your property that takes into account the specific parameters of the property.

Our underfloor heating engineers are experienced in design and installation of all types of underfloor heating systems as well as renewable ground source and air source heat pumps, boiler installations and central heating systems.

Underfloor Heating - How does it work?
Underfloor heating works by pumping a controlled flow of warm water from any heat source through a network of plastic tubing embedded in the floor to create an evenly distributed heat radiating from the floor upwards into the room environment. Because the emitting area is large, sufficient warmth is provided even on a cold winter day with no need for supplementary heating.

Underfloor heating creates a comfortable living space as the heat is generated at floor level keeping the air cooler at the top level of the room. Such temperature distribution is considered the most comfortable and is only one of many other advantages of underfloor heating systems.

  • Water underfloor heating systems best suit new-build constructions either laid in the poured screed floor for greater thermal conductivity or laid between joists with deflector plates and reflective insulation.

  • Underfloor heating ideally is designed to work at lower water temperatures from 30*C and 45*C, therefore making large savings from radiator systems running at 71/82*C.

  • A water underfloor heating system can also sit beneath stone, tile, wood or even carpeted surfaces.

  • Wall space is achieved by installing underfloor heating as radiators are not required.

  • It offers a heating alternative to radiators in bathrooms, kitchens, an entire house - or simply a means to warm up a cold floor on an early morning in winter.

  • According to SAP 2009 standards, there are different rates of responsiveness and efficiency depending on what the pipes are laid in. It recommends using pipes in combination with an insulated timber floor for the best results, followed by pipes in screed.

  • The Energy Saving Trust (EST) say water underfloor heating is typically more energy efficient than radiators and therefore less to run - though the savings figure will depend on how energy efficient your home is.
